I am so excited to announce our next event! On the evening of July 30th, we will be (virtually) popping bottles with Brown Estate Winery, Napa’s first and only Black-owned winery. A brand ambassador from the winery will join us online for a private tasting of three wines:
- 2018 Brown Estate Winery Betelgeuse Sauvignon Blanc
- 2019 Brown Estate Winery Betelgeuse Rosé
- 2018 Brown Estate Winery Zinfandel
Everyone has the option of purchasing two or three wines, but I strongly recommend you purchase three for the full experience! If you are only ordering two, your order will come with the Sauvignon Blanc and the Zinfandel. What’s even better is, the winery is giving our group a discount on the wines and waiving the shipping fees! You might recall that I wrote about Brown Estate Winery a while back on Instagram…
As you can see in my post, they are a family-owned winery that has been around for three decades. They are also a small production winery, which means that they don’t make a lot of wine and each bottle they make is very special. Unless you live in the area, you probably won’t see it at your local wine shop or grocery store, so you literally have to go to the winery or order directly from them in order to enjoy their wines.
If these wines are a little pricier than what you’re accustomed to, you’re not alone. I remember learning at a wine event a few years ago that something like 75% of wine sales in the U.S. are below $20. Premium wines ($20 and over) are not everyday wines for most of us; they’re special occasion wines, “experience” wines, splurge wines. Particularly with most of us having to stay home due to COVID-19, I truly believe this virtual wine tasting will be a special occasion and splurge-worthy experience for you.
