On September 19th at 2 p.m. PST, we are (virtually) popping bottles with Black Mat Yoga, a Black-owned yoga studio from NYC, and Grand Cata, a Latino-owned wine shop in D.C. Join us for an easy 30 minute yoga practice followed by a “wine down” chat as we enjoy our wine. All experience levels (of yoga and wine tasting!) are encouraged to attend and everyone is welcome at this event. If you’re expecting something “serious,” you’ve come to the wrong place. Our vino & vinyasa experience will be fun, full of energy and lots of good vibes. And prizes. We love prizes.

A little about our partners… you might remember that we featured Grand Cata on our Instagram page a couple of months ago (see post below). We are so excited to share that co-founder Julio Robledo will be joining our event to sip wine with us and talk to us about their wine shop!
We are also excited to introduce Eric Mosley, a Yoga Alliance registered yoga and meditation teacher, educator, and diversity & inclusion consultant on a mission to decolonize the western wellness experience and encourage all people–particularly people of color–to bring their most authentic selves to their mats. With a background in education and school leadership spanning over 10 years, he launched Black Mat Yoga NYC to address identity-based inequities in wellness spaces. We will be sharing more information about him in the days leading up to the event.
A limited number of early bird tickets are available for 50% off the regular price. Wine is not included in the registration price. Please visit www.grandcata.com to purchase 2-3 wines of your choice. Grand Cata also sells beer and spirits, if you prefer either of those. We don’t really care what you buy, as long as you buy something! We can’t wait to hear what everyone is drinking! Follow our Instagram for event updates, RSVP on Facebook to help us spread the word, and be sure to subscribe to our mailing list for important details.
A portion of the proceeds of this event will be donated to The Sentencing Project. Founded in 1986, The Sentencing Project works for a fair and effective U.S. criminal justice system by promoting reforms in sentencing policy, addressing unjust racial disparities and practices, and advocating for alternatives to incarceration.
All other funds will be used to coordinate and promote our events. Thank you for your support of we pop bottles and our mission to celebrate diversity in the wine industry! Click here to learn more about our work or to make a donation.
